Arise & Glow

Hey ya’ll, it’s been awhile! It’s so hard for me to believe that it’s been several years since I started this blog. Sometimes I look back and I’m so proud of how far this page as come but other times I wonder how I lost track of time and haven’t put out more content. I think the last year has kinda been like that for everyone though. When Covid shut the world down last March I thought maybe it was my time to shine, but then like everyone else so much overwhelmed me that I ended up making no progress. BUT it’s a new year not only is it 2021 but we are also a year out from the day/week/month our lives got turned upside down. So it’s definitely time for something new.

I’ve been tossing the word ‘arise’ around for a long time now. It came to me back when my kids were teenagers and David and I were taking an active role in working with the youth at our church. Since then I’ve pondered, prayed, wondered and thought of all the different ways I could use it and what it could mean for me. I knew one day I wanted to incorporate it into a business I just wasn’t sure what that business was.

Recently it occurred to me (don’t you love when it finally clicks) that for me the word references finances! I grew up in what I thought to be a financially stable home, I really didn’t know any differently. Once I was an adult though I struggled and realized I had NO clue how to manage my money. It took me a long time to get past that, not only to learn how to bring in more income, but then how to get out of the position I was in and better myself. Now I have a really good grasp on that feel like have arisen financially. See what I did there 🙂

If you have followed me for awhile this blog is a few years old and I’ve talked about the budget coaching aspect a bit but never launched it. I think it’s way overdue don’t you?! I’m working now on putting together the content for that piece of my business. Not only worksheets but also full books that you can use to sort, organize and handle all your personal financials just like I do with the method that has proven itself to me time and time again. I’ve tried so many other budget books and planners and always end up coming back to my own so it just makes sense to share that as well as the knowledge I have gained in the last 20+ years of this journey.

At the beginning of this month I decided to become a Scentsy consultant. A former co-worker and friend is a Director and has had success with it so I thought I’d give it a try. I signed up with the intent to just drum up enough business to have a little extra each month to put towards our debt snowball. Well, needless to say the business took off like a snowball! That made my brain start working and I realized that I could tie all of this together. If you aren’t familiar with Scentsy it is a company that sells electric wax warmers and wax bars along with many other fragrance products that are all wickless/flameless. I might add that those terms also are in the definition of the word ‘glow’.

Finally, after many years, many dreams, many prayers and many lost ideas, Arise & Glow was born! I’m thankful to all of you have followed me for this long, asked for my expertise and supported my Scentsy business. I hope you will continue to follow and will continue you to share and support me on this journey!

I'm just a simple girl, I'm a wife and momma first and foremost, and now a Nana which is my greatest job so far! I also work full time but due to the changes our country and world have been through I now work from home. I grew up in a small town in Virginia and now call another small town in Virginia home. I enjoy writing and thought it might be fun to share a little piece of my life with others.
