Hey Ya’ll!
While there hasn’t been much action lately on the blog, website or Facebook page believe me in the background my brain has been working! That is leading to me to my announcement and a little backstory to follow!
If you have joined me because of my Scentsy journey then thank you and welcome! If you’ve been with me from the start then thank you for sticking around! As some of you may have noticed I have not been doing a lot of promoting of Scentsy over the last few weeks and there is a very good reason for that. That part of my journey has been weighing heavily on my heart and is something I’ve needed to give some thought to. When I started my Scentsy business in the beginning of March I had not bought any Scentsy products (or the box store alternatives) in years! I had enjoyed the products in the past and was looking for a side hustle, and since a good friend of mine is a director, well Scentsy just seemed to make sense. And it did, for awhile! I had great success, made plenty of great connections and made some money!
But, here is where it gets tough! Over the last few years I’ve been on a journey to live a more natural lifestyle. This means using natural products for any and all things and trying to remove all of the toxic items that are so standard in our economy. It has not been easy by any means and I’m in no way the expert at it. This last year of Covid and quarantine fun has allowed me to dig even deeper into it and that has been wonderful for me. However, that lifestyle is a bit contradictory to Scentsy.
Prior to March I was only using essential oil diffusers and essential oil based cleaning products in my home. I’d replaced my body wash, lotion, deodorant, etc. with natural alternatives. Since March I have begun using the wax melts and adding the Scentsy body line to my bathroom. Please know, I am not in any way knocking these products! I am just pointing out that using all of them is going against everything I’ve been doing (and preaching) for the last year! If you know me, you know I like real! I try to be as authentic as possible and it’s just been really unsettling to me that I’ve been going against my own desires for my body and my home.
So with all of that said, I plan to scale back my Scentsy business. I will remain a consultant for the foreseeable future and will remain available to all of my customers! I will probably even continue to use up some of the products I have because I don’t like to waste 😀 It is not for me to decide what is best for you, only what is best for me, and that is what I intend to do. If down the road I decide to dissolve my business I will put you in touch with another wonderful local consultant who can help you out.
By making these changes I am hoping that I will have even more time to devote to my overall business. As part of that I plan to begin work on developing some of my own products that will be more in alignment with my beliefs. Thank you for going along on this ride with me. Remember we are all here to grow, and changing your mind is OK! Learning, growing and changing is how we evolve and should be expected so give yourself grace when you change your mind about things and remember to tell yourself that you are allowed!
