December

A new month always gives me such a great feeling. It is hard to describe. It is similar to that of a new ay or a new year. Yet with a new day we often don’t appreciate the words of the Bible that remind us of our mercies being new. On the other hand with a new year there is much anticipation and celebration. We are ready to be out with the old and in with the new. Yet that soon wears off, often within the first week and we are quickly back to just doing life as we always have.

A new month then falls somewhere in between. It breaks down time into a segment, it’s more than just the day that is in front of us but it isn’t such a long amount of time that we aren’t bale to look to the end of it. It is a season. Ah, there it is again, that word. Season. Means so many things to so many people. For me it’s never about the weather!

A season. Where we can reflect on the past month. Where we can plan for the current one. We can think of what we have accomplished and how we would like to build on that. What new habits did we form? What new habits can we attempt this month? What adventures would we like to have? But it is also a time to see what we didn’t accomplish.

Rather than feel defeated by the negative we need to learn how to reframe that. In what ways can we improve this month? What can we do different to reach our goals. For each new month we have the ability to make it what we want, we have that control. It’s more than just a 24 hour period it’s a time where we can invest a little more each day to accomplish our dreams.

I believe December is just as important as January; maybe more important. I don’t think we should worry ourselves with the hustle and bustle of the holiday season and long for January so we can relax. No instead I believe we should embrace December. What things would we like to still accomplish in this year and what steps can we take to do that? What are our dreams and goals for the next year and how can we set ourselves up for success?

Most important we should be thankful in this season. Thankful for another year of life, blessings and memories. Even if it’s been a tough year full of a loss like this year has been for us, there is still so much good and that is where we must focus. I’m excited for December and I hope this helps you make it count too!

My scripture readings for today were:

Psalm 37:3-5 NLT – Trust in the Lord and do good. Then you will life safely in the land and prosper. Take delight in the Lord and he will give you your hearts desires. Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust him and he will help you.

Psalm 37:7 NLT – Be still in the presence of the Lord and wait patiently for him to act. Don’t worry about evil people who prosper or fret about their wicked schemes.

I'm just a simple girl, I'm a wife and momma first and foremost, and now a Nana which is my greatest job so far! I also work full time but due to the changes our country and world have been through I now work from home. I grew up in a small town in Virginia and now call another small town in Virginia home. I enjoy writing and thought it might be fun to share a little piece of my life with others.
